About the Hammocks Cape Haze:

The Hammocks Cape Haze is being developed as a 234-residence community located on the beautiful Cape Haze peninsula.  The site plan includes exceptional community amenities and three community lakes that add to the spacious, open feeling of the neighborhood.

The center of community activity is the Ibis Club.  Residents can relax in the expansive clubhouse where facilities include a dining area, kitchen, bar, lounge, game room and billiard table.

Outside, palm trees sway in the large lanai area where gas grills are available for your barbeque and scattered tables invite socializing.  The large, zero-entry club pool and spa beckon you to enjoy the sun and water.

At the other end of the pool, the fitness center features a variety of equipment for strength training and aerobic exercise.  Across the lake, tennis courts offer another recreational option.

The northern edge of the Hammocks development adjoins Lemon Lake, part of Charlotte County's Amberjack Environmental Park.  This shallow lake is one of Charlotte County's best birding hotspots, and Hammocks' residents have access to a private boardwalk that extends out into the lake for excellent bird watching opportunities.

About the Hammocks Location:

In this aerial view from the Charlotte County GIS website, you can see the the location of The Hammocks and the surrounding area.  To the west of the Hammocks you can see the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), the barrier islands, and the Gulf of Mexico.  To the north / east, you see Lemon Lake and the County preserve lands of Amberjack Environmental Park.

There are two marinas located on the Intracoastal Waterway just across Placida Road from the Hammocks: the Marina at Cape Haze and Palm Island Marina.  Marina facilities include dockage, boat storage, boat rentals, boat repairs and boat tours.  There are additional marinas, as well as public boat ramps, within a few miles both north and south of the Hammocks.

Nearby Gulf of Mexico beaches can be reached by car or by boat.  There are several public beach parks on Manasota Key, about a fifteen minute drive north of The Hammocks, and miles of public beach on Gasparilla Island, a short drive to the south.  Don Pedro Island State Park is nearby, accessible only by private boat or by a shuttle boat from Placida.  Beach areas on Palm Island and Little Gasparilla Island can also be accessed by boat.

Golfers will find eight local courses within a fifteen minute drive of The Hammocks.

The Hammocks Cape Haze community is located on the Cape Haze peninsula, between Placida and Grove City, in Charlotte County, Florida.
