The community of Englewood is located on Lemon Bay, just east
of Manasota Key and the Gulf of Mexico. Some
neighborhoods are located in Sarasota county and others in Charlotte county.
Although not officially incorporated, Englewood has a
"downtown" shopping area along Dearborn Street with eclectic
shops and a variety of dining experiences. Local
residents enjoy quick access to the public beaches on
Manasota Key, great fishing and boating in Lemon Bay and
nearby waters, and numerous local golf courses. Surrounding
"downtown" Englewood, the Olde Englewood area consists mainly of single family homes.
This area is attracting interest from many buyers who are
renovating older homes in the neighborhood. North, south and east from the
downtown area there are waterfront, golf course, and
retirement communities with home prices ranging from
$100,000 to over $3,000,000. Home options include
mobile home parks, maintenance free villas, condominiums,
townhomes, single-family homes and multi-acre estates. The
Overbrook and Englewood Isles communities are
built around creeks and canals that offer access to Lemon
Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico.
Boca Royale is a gated golf course community with an
onsite restaurant and club facilities. Oak Forest
is a new planned community with villas and single family
homes. East Englewood offers a variety of homes and
homesites just south of Highway 776. And, the areas
