Fishing
Some studies suggest that one in five Charlotte County residents spend time fishing, along with one in six visiting tourists.   We live in a fishing paradise, with fishing options for every angler, from fresh water ponds and canals, to the backwaters of our creeks and rivers, to the open waters of Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico.

Among the fish caught by local anglers are:  tarpon, snook, redfish, spotted sea trout, mullet, flounder, permit, grouper, sheepshead, snapper, sea bass, tuna, amberjack, kingfish, mackerel, cobia and black drum.

Many of the local guides have individual websites that can be located via the search engines.  We haven't attempted to list those sites here.  Below you'll find sites that provide a range of general interest information related to fishing.
